Virat Kohli surpasses Rohit Sharma in ODI conversion rate, says former cricketer.

Mohammad Kaif lauds Virat Kohli’s remarkable ODI conversion rate, saying it places him ahead of Rohit Sharma. Kohli scored 93 off 91 balls in India’s first ODI against New Zealand in Vadodara.

Former India cricketer and commentator Mohammad Kaif has highlighted Virat Kohli’s outstanding conversion rate in ODIs, saying it places him ahead of Rohit Sharma in the format. Kohli has been in exceptional form recently, scoring 469 runs in his last five matches, including two centuries and three fifties.

He continued his rich vein of form in the ongoing New Zealand series, scoring 93 off 91 balls in the first ODI at Vadodara to help India chase 301 and take a 1–0 series lead. Kaif praised Kohli’s ability to convert starts into big innings, noting that this consistency sets him apart from Rohit Sharma.

Kohli has crossed 50 runs 130 times in ODIs, converting 53 of those into centuries, giving him a 40.76% conversion rate. In comparison, Rohit has 94 scores of fifty-plus, converting 33 into centuries, a 35.10% conversion rate. Despite the difference in conversion rates, both have been key contributors to India’s success over the years.

As India look ahead to the ODI World Cup 2027, both Kohli and Rohit remain vital to the team, with the second ODI against New Zealand in Rajkot offering another chance to continue their strong performances.
