Renowned Odia music composer Abhijit Majumdar passed away on Sunday at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where he was undergoing prolonged treatment. He was admitted to the emergency department of the hospital on September 4, 2025, in a critical condition and was placed on ventilator support.
According to medical sources, Majumdar was suffering from multiple health issues, including high blood pressure and chronic liver disease. Despite continuous treatment and close medical monitoring, his condition remained delicate for several weeks.
On December 31, 2025, doctors had stated that his health was improving and that he might be discharged within a couple of days. However, his condition later deteriorated, leading to his demise.
Abhijit Majumdar was a respected name in the Odia music industry, known for his contributions to film music and independent compositions. His death has shocked fans, fellow musicians, and members of the entertainment fraternity.
