Bee Swarm Attack in Kendrapara Claims Elderly Man’s Life, Six Injured

A 76-year-old man died and six others were injured after a swarm of bees attacked villagers at Jagulaipada under Rajkanika police limits in Odisha’s Kendrapara district. The Forest Department is monitoring the situation

A tragic incident unfolded in Odisha’s Kendrapara district on Friday afternoon when a swarm of bees attacked villagers at Jagulaipada under Rajkanika police station limits, leaving one elderly man dead and six others injured.

The deceased has been identified as Bailochan Biswal (76), a resident of Jagulaipada village. According to reports, the bees suddenly emerged from a tree near the village school and began attacking people who were passing along the road, triggering panic in the area.

In total, six persons sustained injuries in the sudden swarm attack and were rushed to the Rajkanika Community Health Centre for treatment. Bailochan Biswal’s condition reportedly became critical due to multiple bee stings. Doctors initially treated him locally before shifting him to the District Headquarters Hospital in Kendrapara.

As his health deteriorated further, he was referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced medical care. However, despite efforts by doctors, he succumbed while undergoing treatment.
