A massive bull named ‘Shoorveer’, valued at Rs 5 crore, is drawing thousands of visitors at the State-level Fish and Animal Resources Fair, Matsya-Pranee Samavesh Odisha (MPSO) 2026, held at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar. Brought from Haryana for the three-day event, the six-year-old bull weighs approximately 17 quintals and has attracted attention comparable to other high-profile livestock exhibits.
Visitors are fascinated by Shoorveer’s impressive size, high value, and meticulous daily care. The bull’s upkeep costs Rs 4,000 per day, including a diet of curd-based buttermilk and milk in the morning, fruits and leafy greens at midday, and carrots, beetroot, radish, and multivitamins in the evening.
Shoorveer is also a valuable dairy asset, with semen priced at Rs 300–500 per injection for artificial insemination to enhance milk production. Organisers confirmed that offers of up to Rs 25 crore were made for the bull, but the owners declined.
A Haryana-based milk supplier attending the fair noted that showcasing Shoorveer aims to educate Odisha farmers on superior livestock practices. The bull’s presence highlights the state’s focus on livestock excellence, dairy innovation, and improved breeding methods. The fair not only entertains visitors but also inspires farmers to adopt modern animal husbandry practices, boosting milk production and rural livelihoods across Odisha.
