Mohammed Siraj has addressed his omission from India’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 with maturity, saying he fully supports the selected team and bears no bitterness. The Hyderabad pacer, part of India’s 2024 title-winning T20 World Cup squad, explained that his exclusion is due to workload management rather than a loss of faith, as he continues to play a key role in India’s Test setup.
Speaking ahead of the third ODI against New Zealand, Siraj emphasised the physical demands of fast bowling across formats and the importance of rest to maintain form and avoid injury. He clarified that his rotation from white-ball cricket is carefully planned, not random, to ensure he remains effective and fit for the rigours of continuous international cricket. Siraj also expressed confidence in the squad defending the trophy and wished the team success in the tournament, which begins on February 7 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
