Traffic congestion has emerged as one of the biggest challenges for Bhubaneswar residents, paralysing daily life across the city. From Jayadev Vihar–Patia road to Palasuni Square, Master Canteen, Infocity Road, and CRP Square, commuters face prolonged delays during both morning and evening hours. Illegal parking, narrow roads, lack of bus bays, and weak enforcement of traffic rules have added to the chaos. Even ambulances struggle to move through clogged streets, raising serious safety concerns. Experts warn that without urgent infrastructure upgrades, dedicated emergency lanes, and stricter traffic management, the situation could worsen as the city continues to expand.
