In a major breakthrough in the sensational Tarinigada case, Paradip Police have arrested two persons in connection with the death of a Plus III female student whose body was recovered earlier this week in Paradip.
The accused have been identified as the victim’s male friend, Somanath Ojha, and a tenant, Shubham Singh. Police have registered cases against them on charges of abduction, rape and murder.
Although officials have not yet disclosed detailed findings from the investigation, allegations have surfaced that the student was sexually assaulted and later pushed from a rooftop in an alleged attempt to kill her.
The victim’s blood-stained, semi-nude body was discovered beneath a four-storey building in the early hours of Monday, sparking widespread outrage in the locality.
During a search operation at the building, police reportedly seized the victim’s undergarments, churidar and mobile phone from the rooftop. Investigators suspect that the accused may have attempted to stage the incident as a suicide by placing the victim’s slippers on the terrace to mislead authorities.
Despite the arrests, several aspects of the case remain under investigation. Police officials stated that further details will emerge after forensic analysis and the post-mortem examination reports are reviewed.
The incident has sent shockwaves across Paradip, with residents demanding swift justice and strict action against those responsible.
