Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda Welcomes Reopening of Nuagaon Anganwadi Centre

BJP National Vice-President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda expressed happiness after children resumed attendance at the Nuagaon Anganwadi centre in Rajnagar, which had remained closed for 86 days following a caste-related dispute.

Baijayant Panda, BJP National Vice-President and Member of Parliament from Kendrapara, expressed happiness on Monday after children resumed attending the Anganwadi centre at Nuagaon under Rajnagar block in Kendrapara district.

The resumption of activities comes after the centre remained closed for 86 days amid controversy following the appointment of a Dalit woman as an Anganwadi helper. The prolonged disruption had impacted early childhood education and nutrition services in the village.

On Sunday, Baijayant Panda visited Nuagaon under Ghadiamal Gram Panchayat to assess the situation. During his visit, he reviewed the facilities at the Anganwadi centre, interacted with staff and villagers, and shared a community meal at the premises. The Anganwadi helper served food during the gathering, symbolising community participation and social harmony.

Sharing his reaction on social media platform X, Panda expressed delight at seeing children having a nutritious meal at the centre. He noted that it was heartening to witness the community coming together to ensure a positive start for their children. In an earlier post, he emphasised strengthening grassroots welfare delivery and voiced support for Anganwadi workers striving to provide the best foundation for children.

Earlier, members of the Child Protection Commission and local administrative officials had visited the centre on February 14 to counsel residents. Following sustained administrative intervention and dialogue, villagers pledged to send their children back.
