The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Warning for dense fog in multiple districts of Odisha, advising residents to remain cautious, especially during early morning travel. The warning comes even as dry weather conditions are expected to prevail across the state for the next three days.
According to IMD data, minimum temperatures have dropped by 2–4°C in several coastal and interior regions over the past 24 hours, with some areas recording temperatures up to 5°C below normal. However, temperatures are expected to remain stable for the next day before gradually rising by 2–3°C.
Dense fog is likely in districts including Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Angul and Dhenkanal, while shallow to moderate fog may affect several other districts.
The weather department has advised motorists and commuters to exercise caution due to reduced visibility. Despite the fog, no rainfall or major weather disturbances are expected, and dry conditions will continue across Odisha.
