Odisha Weather Update: Night Temperatures to Rise Amid Dense Fog

Night temperatures across Odisha are set to rise over the next few days, offering relief from the ongoing winter chill. Increased cloud cover over several parts of the state is contributing to a gradual increase in minimum temperatures, partially easing the intensity of the cold wave.

However, dense fog is expected to persist, affecting early morning visibility and transport. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a dense fog warning until January 7. On Sunday, districts including Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, and Nayagarh reported very dense fog, prompting an orange alert and advising extra caution for commuters.

Fog conditions are predicted to intensify over northern and interior Odisha, with similar visibility issues likely to continue tomorrow in Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, and Nayagarh.

Despite the fog, no significant rainfall is expected, and the state is forecast to remain dry for the next seven days. Authorities have urged people to exercise caution during early morning travel due to low visibility caused by dense fog.
