The Jagatsinghpur district administration on Monday initiated a major crackdown on illegal brick kilns operating across Tirtol and Kujang areas of Odisha. As part of the drive, raids were conducted on multiple unauthorised brick kilns, and notices were issued to at least 15 kiln owners suspected of operating without valid permissions.Jagatsinghpur District Collector J Sonal stated that strict instructions have been issued to officials to intensify action against illegal brick kilns and soil smuggling. “I have asked the Sub-Collectors and tehsildars concerned to crack down on illegal brick kilns and smuggling of soil. We are keeping a strict vigil on the illegal activities and also carrying out raids from time to time,” the Collector said.
