Chartered Accountant Arrested for Allegedly Murdering Pregnant Wife in Jhajjar, Tried to Stage Robbery

A chartered accountant was arrested for allegedly killing his two-month-pregnant wife and staging it as a robbery in Haryana. Police said the murder was preplanned, and the accused confessed during interrogation.

A shocking murder case has emerged from Haryana’s Jhajjar district, where a chartered accountant allegedly killed his pregnant wife just four months after their marriage. The accused, identified as Anshul, was arrested after police said he confessed to planning and executing the crime.

The victim, Mehak, a bank employee, was two months pregnant. The incident occurred while the couple was travelling from Hansi to Gurugram. Initially, the accused claimed that unidentified robbers attacked them and killed his wife near Badli.

However, investigators found inconsistencies in his statements. During sustained questioning, he allegedly confessed to strangling his wife and slitting her throat with scissors he had brought along. Police suspect personal motives, including doubts over his wife’s character.

An FIR has been registered, and the accused will be produced in court for remand as police continue their investigation. The victim’s family has demanded strict punishment, calling it a premeditated and brutal killing.
