Bhubaneswar, March 1: A shocking murder case has come to light in Bhubaneswar’s GGP Colony, where a young YouTuber was allegedly stabbed to death late Saturday night. The victim, identified as Rahul Maharana, was attacked in the GGP Colony area, triggering panic in the locality.
Police and a scientific forensic team visited the crime scene and collected crucial samples as part of the investigation. Authorities confirmed that three suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder. The weapon used in the attack has also been recovered. Deputy Commissioner of Police Jagmohan Meena stated that the accused were identified and tracked using CCTV footage.
According to preliminary reports, Rahul was sitting with his friends at a playground in GGP Colony around 9:30 PM.also the other 3 youths were in the same field in a short distance. Suddenly in between two groups, the disturbance started for some small things and then the other 3 youths started stabbing to the chest of Rahul multiple times.
The injured Rahul was first rushed to a nearby medical facility and later shifted to Capital Hospital,Bhubaneswar as his condition worsened, where doctors declared him dead.
Police sources revealed that one of the accused is reportedly associated with the 120 Battalion. Investigations suggest the suspects were consuming alcohol at the spot when a heated argument broke out between Rahul and one of the accused. The confrontation allegedly escalated suddenly, leading to the fatal stabbing.
The accused are reportedly natives of Athagarh and were staying in a rented apartment near the crime scene. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact sequence of events and motive behind the attack.
