A youth identified as Suryanarayan Behera was chased and brutally attacked on a public road in Sriram Nagar, Berhampur, on Wednesday night. He sustained serious injuries and was admitted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital. Police have begun an investigation, with allegations pointing to previous enmity involving the son of a former corporator.

A shocking incident of violence on a public road has raised fresh concerns about the law and order situation in Berhampur city of Odisha. On Wednesday night, a youth was allegedly chased and attacked by a group of assailants in the Sriram Nagar area.

The injured youth has been identified asSuryanarayan Behera, who sustained serious injuries during the assault. Following the attack, he was rushed toMKCG Medical College and Hospitalin Berhampur, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

According to sources, the incident may be linked to aprevious enmitybetween Behera and the son of a former corporator. Allegations suggest that the corporator’s son, along with several associates, may have been involved in the attack. However, officials have not confirmed these claims yet.
