Tension erupted at Ravenshaw University in Cuttack, Odisha, after a violent clash occurred between students of the East Hostel and New Hostel on Friday. The incident left several students injured and created panic across the campus.
According to sources, the conflict began during a sports event earlier in the day when an argument broke out between the two groups. Although the situation was temporarily controlled, tensions escalated later in the evening into a physical confrontation. Students from both hostels allegedly used bamboo sticks and other objects to attack each other.
Police personnel were immediately deployed inside and around the campus to control the situation and prevent further violence. Senior officers, including the Inspector-in-Charge, reached the spot and started an investigation to identify the exact cause and those involved in the clash.
Following police intervention, the situation was brought under control, and peace was restored on campus. Authorities are continuing their inquiry, and further action may be taken based on the investigation findings.
