Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has recorded strong growth in mineral production during FY 2025-26, with Iron Ore output reaching 24.88 Million Tonnes (MT) as of 31 December 2025, surpassing last year’s corresponding period. Overall mineral production, including Iron Ore, Chrome Ore, Bauxite, and others, stood at 29.03 MT, reinforcing OMC’s position as one of India’s leading mining companies and setting the stage for a record-breaking fiscal year.
In Q3 of FY 2025-26, OMC achieved total mineral production of 12.94 MT, a 31.5% increase from 9.84 MT in Q3 of FY 2024-25. This included 11.23 MT of Iron Ore, 0.49 MT of Chrome Ore, 1.15 MT of Bauxite, and 0.07 MT of other minerals, driven by optimized operations, favourable conditions, and strict safety standards.
With continued momentum into Q4, OMC is on track to surpass last year’s total output, potentially marking the highest mineral production in its history. The growth is attributed to operational excellence, technology-led solutions like the Logistics Management System (LMS) and Fleet Management System (FMS), and efficient resource utilization, ensuring quality delivery, improved equipment use, and real-time monitoring of mining and transport activities.
OMC also emphasizes sustainable mining, including scientific methods, safety, environmental compliance, afforestation, water conservation, and progressive mine closure practices. The consistent rise in output underscores OMC’s key role in Odisha’s industrial development and the state’s economy while advancing toward a landmark year in mineral production.
