The Odisha tourism department has prepared a Rs 9-crore development proposal to transform the 10-kilometre coastal stretch between Paradip and Siali in Jagatsinghpur district into a major eco-tourism destination. The initiative is part of the state’s broader efforts to promote sustainable tourism and obtain the internationally recognised Blue Flag Beach certification.
Officials believe the Paradip–Siali belt, known for its pristine white sand and scenic beauty, has immense potential to attract both domestic and foreign tourists if supported by improved infrastructure, safety measures and environmental safeguards. Despite its natural appeal, the beach has remained outside mainstream tourism circuits due to limited facilities.
According to district tourism officials, the project is expected to generate local employment and draw tourists seeking less-explored, unspoiled beaches. Currently, Odisha has only two Blue Flag-certified beaches—Puri and Sunapur in Ganjam district. The proposed development could help position Paradip–Siali as the next prominent coastal attraction on Odisha’s tourism map.
