Odisha Government Effects Major IAS Reshuffle, Assigns New and Additional Charges

The Odisha government has carried out a major IAS reshuffle, reassigning senior officers and allocating additional charges across key departments through an official notification.

The Odisha government on Thursday implemented a major reshuffle of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, involving fresh postings and additional charge allocations across several key departments. The changes were notified by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department.

As per the notification, Deoranjan Kumar Singh, IAS (RR-1993), currently serving as DC-cum-Additional Chief Secretary and Secretary to the Planning and Convergence Department, has been given additional charge as Additional Chief Secretary to the Steel & Mines Department. Surendra Kumar, IAS (RR-1993), has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary to the General Administration & Public Grievance Department, along with additional charge of Parliamentary Affairs.

Several other senior officers were reassigned to leadership roles in departments such as Revenue & Disaster Management, Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment, Women & Child Development, Social Security, Commerce & Transport, Fisheries, Mission Shakti, Public Enterprises, and Urban Development. Multiple additional charge arrangements were withdrawn or reassigned as part of the restructuring.

The reshuffle also included key appointments to statutory bodies and public sector undertakings such as the Odisha Forest Development Corporation, Odisha Mining Corporation, IDCO, OSRTC, CRUT, Bhubaneswar Development Authority, and Smart City entities.

The government stated that the reshuffle aims to strengthen administrative efficiency and ensure effective governance across departments by optimising leadership roles and responsibilities.
