A 37-year-old Russian national, Alexey (Aleksei) Leonov, has been arrested in North Goa for allegedly killing two Russian women in separate incidents following disputes.

Police said Leonov first murdered Elena Vaneeva (37) in Morjim on January 14, and the next day, he allegedly killed his girlfriend, Elena Kastanova (37), in Arambol by slitting her throat. Investigators revealed that both murders followed arguments, with the accused restraining Kastanova before attacking her. The Goa Police recovered the bodies and registered cases, with further investigations underway.
