Odisha CHSE Plus 2 Exams Begin Under AI Surveillance; Matric Exams from February 19

The annual Plus 2 examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, began on February 18 with AI-enabled CCTV surveillance and live monitoring at question paper hubs. The Matric (HSC) examinations will commence from February 19 across the state.

The annual Plus 2 examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, commenced on Wednesday with unprecedented security arrangements, including AI-enabled CCTV surveillance at question paper hubs.

For the first time, the CHSE has introduced Artificial Intelligence-based monitoring systems at nodal hubs. AI cameras and CCTV systems are directly controlled by the board to ensure enhanced transparency and prevent malpractice.

Officials informed that live streaming is being conducted from the moment question papers are collected from the hubs until they are opened at examination centres. The measure aims to ensure a fair, transparent, and malpractice-free examination process.

To further strengthen monitoring, 102 flying squads have been deployed across five levels of supervision. Candidates have been instructed to reach their respective examination centres by 9:30 AM.

This year, a total of4,01,623 studentsare appearing for the Plus 2 examinations, which will continue until March 28.

Matric (HSC) Exams from February 19

Meanwhile, the High School Certificate (Matric) examinations will begin on Thursday, February 19. A total of5,61,979 studentswill appear at3,082 examination centresacross the state.

According toPrashant Kumar Parida, Controller of Examinations, students must reach centres by 9:30 AM and take their seats by 9:45 AM after verification. Live streaming arrangements have been made at 1,364 centres, and AI technology is being used to monitor question paper hubs.

Amulya Kumar Pradhan, Vice-President of CHSE, stated that all nodal centres and strong rooms storing question papers are under constant surveillance, and immediate action will be taken in case of any irregularities.

School and Mass Education MinisterNityananda Gondassured that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examinations.

The introduction of AI-powered surveillance marks a significant step toward strengthening examination integrity in Odisha.
