In a major boost to industrial growth, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved investment proposals worth ₹44,241 crore covering 10 major projects across eight districts in the state.
The approvals were granted during the 44th meeting of the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA), focusing on renewable energy, semiconductor manufacturing, and industrial infrastructure. These projects are expected to create employment for 8,765 people and strengthen the state’s industrial ecosystem.
A significant portion of the investment is in renewable energy, particularly pumped-storage hydropower projects. Major proposals include projects by Adani Hydro Energy Twelve Ltd in Nayagarh, Sangamam CD Hydro Consortium in Koraput, Greenko in Kalahandi, and Jindal Green Power in Deogarh.
In the semiconductor sector, ASP Semicon Private Ltd will set up a memory chip module manufacturing facility in Khordha district with an investment of ₹4,620 crore, creating 2,500 jobs.
Other major projects include a magnet manufacturing unit by Magnova Private Ltd in Khordha, a ₹3,000 crore defence and aerospace components facility by Bharat Forge in Dhenkanal, and cement plants by NCL Industries and Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd in Koraput and Malkangiri.
Additionally, Shreetech Data Limited-CLS will establish a cable landing station in Puri to enhance telecom connectivity.
These investments are expected to accelerate industrialisation, boost employment, and strengthen Odisha’s position as a major manufacturing and renewable energy hub.
