A gruesome triple murder has shocked residents of Gariapali village in Odisha’s Deogarh district after an elderly man allegedly killed three members of his own family during a domestic dispute.
According to initial reports, the victims have been identified as the accused man’s wife, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. The accused, identified as Ramesh, allegedly attacked them with a hammer during a family altercation, resulting in their deaths.
Sources said the elderly man was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. After carrying out the alleged attack, he fled the village, leaving the community in shock.
The incident reportedly came to light when the accused’s son returned home and discovered the bodies of the three victims. He immediately informed the police about the tragic incident.
Upon receiving the information, a team from Kundheigola Police Station reached the spot and began an investigation. Police officials are currently questioning neighbours and other villagers to gather more details about the circumstances that led to the brutal crime.
Authorities have launched efforts to trace and arrest the accused, while further investigation is underway to establish the exact sequence of events behind the shocking incident.
