The Koraput district administration has withdrawn its Republic Day ban on the sale of eggs, fish, chicken, mutton, and other non-vegetarian foods. The earlier order, aimed at observing the national festival with uniformity, faced criticism for being unnecessary and overly restrictive.
District Collector Manoj Satyawan Mahajan announced the decision on social media, emphasizing that restrictions will no longer be enforced on January 26, 2026. Traders and residents welcomed the move, citing freedom of choice during the national occasion.
