At the United Nations Security Council on Monday, India’s Permanent Representative Parvathaneni Harish strongly criticised Pakistan, accusing it of pursuing a “single-point agenda to harm India and its people.” Responding to Pakistan’s account of Operation Sindoor, Harish stated that Pakistan sought a truce only after being overwhelmed by India’s air superiority in May 2025.
He also reiterated that terrorism cannot be normalised and condemned Pakistan for its continued support of terror groups targeting India. Harish defended India’s decision to hold the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance, citing repeated violations by Pakistan over six and a half decades.
Highlighting the constitutional and governance issues in Pakistan, including the elevation of Army Chief Asim Munir as Field Marshal, Harish urged Islamabad to introspect on the rule of law. He reaffirmed India’s position that Jammu & Kashmir remains an integral part of India.
