In a shocking incident in Odisha, a young girl narrated a harrowing eyewitness account of how her father, mother, and sister were brutally murdered by close relatives over a land dispute. Police have arrested one accused and detained two others as investigation continues.

A spine-chilling triple murder incident has shaken Odisha after a young girl recounted the brutal killing of her parents and sister by their own relatives over a long-standing land dispute. The incident took place on Monday when Jitendra Soren’s family was inside their house preparing food.

According to preliminary investigation and the survivor’s statement, Jitendra’s younger brother Laxman Soren, along with relatives Baidyanath Soren and Sudam Soren, arrived at the house and began arguing over land. The dispute soon escalated into extreme violence, with the accused allegedly attacking the family using a sharp axe.

Despite the girl’s desperate pleas for mercy, the attackers reportedly hacked Jitendra Soren, his wife Malati Soren, and their daughter Mami Soren to death. Witnessing the gruesome scene, the elder daughter Sasmita and younger daughter Rani managed to escape and fled to a nearby area, saving their lives.

Police have arrested Laxman Soren, while Baidyanath and Sudam Soren have been detained for questioning. A forensic team has visited the crime scene and further investigation is underway.

The deceased Jitendra Soren was a driver by profession and is survived by three daughters and a son. His married eldest daughter had recently returned home to celebrate the Makar festival when the tragic incident occurred.
