A Hyva truck was completely gutted in a massive fire near Ramachandrapur along the Naranpur–Duburi road in Keonjhar district on Sunday night, triggering panic among local residents and commuters.
According to sources, the vehicle suddenly caught fire and was engulfed in flames within minutes. Thick plumes of smoke billowed into the night sky as the truck burned intensely on the busy stretch, drawing attention from nearby residents.
Upon receiving information, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and launched an operation to contain the blaze. After sustained firefighting efforts, the flames were brought under control. However, by the time the fire was extinguished, the truck had been completely destroyed.
The driver had a narrow escape. After noticing smoke emanating from the engine compartment, he immediately halted the vehicle and jumped out to safety moments before the fire spread rapidly. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
While the exact cause of the fire is yet to be officially confirmed, preliminary suspicion points to a possible short circuit in the engine area. Authorities are expected to conduct a detailed investigation to determine the precise cause of the blaze.
