Normalcy Restored in Odisha Courts After Bomb Threat Emails Declared Hoaxes

Court proceedings across multiple districts in Odisha resumed smoothly on Thursday after being briefly halted due to bomb threat emails sent to district courts inCuttack, Sambalpur, and Deogarh. The threats prompted immediate evacuation of court premises and deployment of anti-bomb squads, dog squads, and police teams to conduct comprehensive security inspections.

According to officials, the emails claimed that explosives had been planted within the court complexes, leading to panic and the temporary suspension of judicial activities. Security personnel carried out detailed searches of courtrooms, corridors, offices, and surrounding areas. After several hours of investigation, authorities confirmed thatno suspicious objects or explosive materials were foundat any of the locations.

Once the searches concluded and the threats were deemed hoaxes, normal court functioning resumed. Lawyers, litigants, and staff returned to their duties, and judicial operations continued without further disruption.

Police have launched an investigation to trace the origin of the threatening emails. Meanwhile, security measures around court complexes across the state have been strengthened as a precautionary step.
