Rail connectivity for passengers in Odisha is set to improve with the approval of a new Amrit Bharat train service between Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu and Dhanbad in Jharkhand.
The train will pass through nine stations in Odisha, providing better travel options for passengers from the southern and western regions of the state.
Welcoming the decision, Mohan Charan Majhi thanked Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for approving the new service. The chief minister said the train would significantly enhance travel convenience and strengthen interstate rail connectivity.
According to official sources, the Coimbatore–Dhanbad Amrit Bharat train will halt at several important stations across Odisha.
The train will stop at:
Rayagada
Muniguda
Kesinga
Titilagarh
Bolangir
These stations play a key role in serving passengers from southern and western Odisha.
Additionally, the train will also halt at:
Bargarh Road
Sambalpur
Jharsuguda
Rourkela
These stops will connect major towns and important transport hubs in the western region of the state.
Officials said the new train service will benefit a large number of passengers travelling between Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Jharkhand.
The service is expected to strengthen railway connectivity in southern and western Odisha while providing improved access to long-distance travel routes.
With the addition of the Coimbatore–Dhanbad Amrit Bharat train, the railway network in Odisha is expected to become more convenient and better integrated with the national rail network.
