The scheduled flight between Bhubaneswar and Dubai was cancelled on Monday in view of the prevailing war situation in the Middle East and subsequent airspace restrictions across key West Asian destinations. Authorities at Biju Patnaik International Airport confirmed the disruption.
Airport Director Prasanna Pradhan stated that the service to Dubai was called off after assessing the evolving regional situation. He clarified that there are no daily direct flights from Bhubaneswar to Dubai, as the service operates three times a week—Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
According to officials, while last Friday’s flight departed as scheduled, airspace over Muscat, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai has been affected since Saturday, prompting the cancellation. Passengers were informed in advance to minimise inconvenience.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation is closely monitoring developments, particularly for flights operating from western sectors, which remain impacted. A final decision regarding Wednesday’s Bhubaneswar–Dubai service will be taken after reviewing the latest situation.
