A deeply emotional handwritten letter addressed to Goddess Maa Tara Tarini has moved devotees and temple authorities at the famous Tara Tarini shrine in Odisha’s Ganjam district. The letter was discovered on Saturday during the routine counting of offerings from the temple’s hundi, where it was found among the donations.

Though the child did not mention their name or address, the contents of the letter revealed a young soul burdened with fear, suffering, and uncertainty, yet filled with unwavering faith. Written in simple words, the child questioned the hardships faced at such a young age while placing complete trust in the compassion of the Goddess.

In the letter, the young devotee prayed for education and wisdom, sought good health and well-being for a sibling, and asked for happiness and protection for their mother, grandparents, and family. The child also expressed fear of an unseen enemy and requested the Goddess to remove obstacles from their life, ending the letter with a tender wish for the deity’s well-being.

Confirming the incident, Purusottampur Tehsildar Binod Behera said temple staff found the letter while opening the donation box.
