US President Donald Trump has publicly dismissed reports suggesting that his top military adviser, General Dan Caine, cautioned against military action targeting Iran. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump labelled such media accounts as “fake news” and “100% incorrect,” maintaining that there is no disagreement within his administration over potential military options for Tehran.
While several outlets, including Axios, The Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal, reported that Caine and other Pentagon officials expressed concerns about the risks of an extended conflict — such as the possibility of American casualties and depleted munitions — Trump rejected the notion that his top general is opposed to military action. Trump said Caine, like himself, would prefer to avoid war but believes any necessary military operation would be “easily won.”
The president also made clear that the final decision on Iran rests exclusively with him, stressing his openness to a diplomatic deal but warning of serious consequences if one is not reached. Meanwhile, tensions remain high in the Middle East as diplomatic efforts and military posturing continue.
