Odisha Government Orders Monthly Performance Reviews of Government ITIs

The Odisha government will conduct monthly reviews of government ITIs to improve training quality, infrastructure, placements, and overall institutional management.

In a significant move to strengthen technical education, the Odisha government has decided to conduct monthly performance reviews of all government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the State. The decision comes amid concerns over the functioning and effectiveness of these institutions.

According to the directive, review meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of every month. The reviews will assess key parameters such as student enrollment and attendance, training infrastructure, placement performance, manpower availability, and overall institutional management.

The Skill Development and Technical Education Department has issued instructions to principals of all government ITIs to ensure strict compliance and active participation in the review process. The department stated that regular monitoring is essential to identify gaps in training delivery and infrastructure and to address them in a timely manner.

As per the notification, the meetings will be conducted at 11:00 AM, either in virtual or physical mode, with details communicated in advance through the official WhatsApp group. The initiative aims to enhance the quality and outcomes of technical education in Odisha.
