Odisha Government Bans Official Meetings on Mondays to Prioritize Public Grievances

The Odisha government has directed all state and panchayat offices to suspend official and departmental meetings on Mondays, ensuring officials focus entirely on public grievance hearings. Additionally, infrastructure projects will be reviewed monthly to enhance accountability and timely execution.

In a bid to improve administrative efficiency and public service delivery, the Odisha government has issued a directive prohibiting official and departmental meetings on Mondays across all government offices. The decision, announced by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, aims to allow officials to dedicate Mondays solely to public grievance hearings, ensuring citizens’ concerns receive undivided attention.

The order applies to both state-level and panchayat-level offices. Alongside this, the government has introduced a monthly review system for infrastructure projects, with meetings conducted on the third Saturday of each month to track progress, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure timely project execution.

These measures reflect Odisha’s commitment to streamlined governance, enhanced accountability, and effective grievance redressal.
