The much-anticipated Gopalpur Beach Festival will be held from January 22 to 26 this year, officials confirmed following a preparatory meeting chaired by Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena.
Celebrated annually since 1997, the festival was traditionally held from December 24 to 29 each year.
During the meeting, district officials discussed logistics, security, and arrangements to ensure a smooth celebration. Transport, accommodation, and public facilities will be coordinated to manage the expected influx of visitors.
Speaking to the media, Minister Jena said, “There were concerns about whether the Gopalpur Beach Festival would take place, but the district officials prepared the necessary plans, and it has been confirmed. The festival is expected to attract many visitors, including international tourists.”
Authorities are optimistic that the event will draw tourists from across India and abroad, boosting local tourism and providing opportunities for cultural exchange.
The festival will highlight Gopalpur’s rich heritage, featuring traditional performances, handicrafts, and local cuisine, reaffirming its status as a key cultural attraction in Odisha.
