In response to rising concerns about examination stress and anxiety among schoolchildren, theRajasthan Education Departmenthas introduced a range of mental health support measures across government schools.
Recognizing that exam pressure can take a toll on students’ emotional and academic performance, officials have rolled out initiatives that focus not only on academics but also onemotional balance and resilience. These include dailyyoga sessions, interactive learning activities and gratitude‑based classroom exercises designed to promote calmness, focus and positive thinking.
For younger learners, the department has introduced“Jaadui Pitara”— a play‑based learning kit that uses stories, games and creative exercises to support cognitive, social and language skills while reducing stress. Older students are encouraged to express their emotions in healthy ways through sports camps, motivational content and group activities that stress teamwork, communication and self‑confidence.
Schools are also leveragingInformation and Communication Technology (ICT) labs and smart televisionsto screen mental health awareness content, helping students understand stress and how to manage it effectively.
Officials say these measures aim to create asupportive, stress‑free environment, helping students approach exams with confidence rather than fear. Early feedback indicates that students feel more emotionally equipped and mentally prepared.
The department plans to continue expanding these efforts, ensuring holistic development — where academic success goes hand‑in‑hand with emotional well‑being.
