Fresh details have surfaced in the murder of Bhubaneswar-based YouTuber Rahul Maharana, who was killed on February 28 at the GGP Colony High School ground under Mancheswar police limits. Three of his friends — Siba, Babulu and Sachin — have narrated how a verbal altercation allegedly turned violent.
According to Siba, the group was chatting inside the school ground when they noticed three youths consuming intoxicants nearby. After objecting to a bottle being broken, an argument reportedly broke out, leading to pushing and physical assault. Siba claimed he was struck on the head and lost consciousness.
Sachin said Rahul intervened during the scuffle and was hit in the chest. Initially unaware that a knife had been used, he later realised Rahul had suffered severe bleeding. The group rushed him to the hospital, where he was declared dead.
Rahul’s wife has raised serious concerns over the investigation, questioning conflicting accounts about who stabbed him and suggesting the altercation may have been staged. Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the case, and the investigation is ongoing.
