Prime Video has officially announced the premiere of Elle, a prequel series to the beloved Legally Blonde films, scheduled for July 1. The show explores Elle Woods’ high school years, revealing the experiences that shaped her into the confident, ambitious woman audiences fell in love with in the 2001 movie.

Lexi Minetree stars as young Elle Woods, with June Diane Raphael and Tom Everett Scott portraying her parents. The cast also includes Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovitz, Chandler Kinney, Zac Looker, and recurring appearances from Jessica Belkin, James Van Der Beek, and more.

Reese Witherspoon, who played Elle in the original films and serves as an executive producer, expressed her excitement about the project, praising Lexi Minetree’s portrayal. The series is created by Laura Kittrell, co-showrunner with Caroline Dries, and directed by Jason Moore for the first two episodes.
