Prime Video has dropped the trailer for its upcoming Hindi crime thriller series Daldal, offering a dark and gripping look at a city shaken by a ruthless serial killer. Headlined by Bhumi Pednekar, the series is set in Mumbai and follows DCP Rita Ferreira, a seasoned police officer tasked with solving a series of meticulously planned and increasingly violent murders.
Based on Vish Dhamija’s bestselling novel Bhendi Bazaar, Daldal is directed by Amrit Raj Gupta and produced by Vikram Malhotra and Suresh Triveni under the Abundantia Entertainment banner. Triveni also serves as the creator of the series. The screenplay is penned by Sreekanth Agneeaswaran, Rohan D’Souza and Priya Saggi, with dialogues written by Suresh Triveni and Hussain Haidry.
The trailer highlights the psychological and emotional strain of the investigation as Rita Ferreira finds herself under mounting pressure from the system, public scrutiny and unresolved personal trauma. Bhumi Pednekar’s character is portrayed as a driven yet vulnerable officer, forced to confront moral dilemmas while staying one step ahead of a cold-blooded killer.
Speaking about the role, Pednekar described it as one of the most challenging performances of her career, calling Rita a character shaped by ambition, haunted by her past and constantly balancing strength with vulnerability. She also expressed her excitement about reuniting with producer Vikram Malhotra after Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
Alongside Pednekar, Daldal features Samara Tijori and Aditya Rawal in key roles. The series is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video on January 30, promising a tense and emotionally charged crime drama for viewers.
