Over 94,000 Government Posts Vacant in Odisha, CM Mohan Majhi Informs Assembly

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi revealed that 94,485 government posts are currently vacant across various departments. The School, Home, and Health departments have the highest vacancies despite over 39,000 recruitments in the past 1.5 years.

In a major revelation in the Odisha Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi informed that 94,485 government posts remain vacant across multiple departments in the state, highlighting a significant manpower shortage.

Responding to a query by MLA Chakramani Kanhar, the Chief Minister stated that the School and Mass Education Department has the highest number of vacancies at 20,289 posts, followed by the Home Department with 16,032 vacancies and the Health Department with 10,457 unfilled positions.

The Chief Minister also noted that the state government has undertaken recruitment drives and successfully filled 39,505 posts between June 12, 2024, and February 12, 2026.

Despite these efforts, the large number of unfilled posts continues to pose administrative and service delivery challenges, making recruitment a key priority for the government.
