Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Swain, inaugurated the Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) Pavilion at the 25th Enterprise Odisha exhibition held in Rourkela from January 28 to 30, 2026.
During his visit, the Chief Minister toured the pavilion, which showcases OMC’s journey as India’s third-largest iron ore producer and its steady progress towards record production in the current financial year. The exhibition highlights OMC’s focus on operational efficiency, sustainable mining practices, digital innovations in safety and operations, and mineral exploration initiatives.
OMC also displayed its value-addition efforts through its Ferrochrome Plant and Chrome Ore Beneficiation Plants. Currently, OMC operates 19 mines producing iron ore, chrome, bauxite, manganese, and limestone, supporting key mineral-based industries such as steel, aluminium, and ferrochrome.
Mandated by the Odisha government, OMC continues to lead mineral exploration across the state to unlock new resources and strengthen Odisha’s mineral base. Its participation at Enterprise Odisha underlines its strategic role in the state’s mineral-led industrial development and contribution to national mineral security.
