Researchers at National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NIT Rourkela) have developed an advanced AI-powered multi-sensor system designed to accurately detect human sleep postures without compromising privacy.
The study, published in the IEEE Sensors Journal, was conducted by Assistant Professor Saptarshi Chatterjee, B.Tech student Shiladitya Mondal, and Debangshu Dey from Jadavpur University.
The system addresses serious health risks associated with poor sleep posture, including chronic pain, spinal issues, and Obstructive Sleep Apnea. It is especially useful for bedridden patients who are vulnerable to pressure ulcers.
