Legendary actor Mammootty, known for his monumental contributions to Malayalam cinema, has spoken candidly about the health scare he faced in 2025 that forced him to step away from acting temporarily. During a recent hospital event, the actor shared that he had lost both his sense of smell and taste for an extended period, describing the ordeal as a life-changing experience.

“I was unable to smell or taste anything for a long time,” Mammootty said. “We only understand the value of such abilities when we lose them.” He reflected on how ordinary sensory functions, often taken for granted, shape daily life.
