Odisha Likely to Get Relief from Winter Chill as Night Temperatures Rise

Increased cloudiness over multiple regions of Odisha is set to elevate minimum temperatures, providing partial respite from the ongoing cold wave and softening the winter intensity.

Night temperatures across Odisha are expected to rise in the coming days, offering relief from the prevailing winter chill. Increased cloud cover in several parts of the state is contributing to a gradual rise in minimum temperatures, providing partial respite from the cold wave and easing the intensity of winter.

However, dense fog conditions are set to continue, affecting early morning visibility and transport. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for dense fog until January 7.

On Sunday, several districts—including Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, and Nayagarh—experienced very dense fog. In response, an orange warning has been issued, urging residents to exercise caution, especially during early morning hours.

Weather reports indicate that fog is likely to intensify over northern and interior Odisha, with similar conditions expected tomorrow. Very dense fog is again predicted in Khordha, Puri, Cuttack, and Nayagarh districts.

Despite the fog, the IMD has ruled out any significant rainfall, with dry conditions expected to persist across the state over the next seven days. Residents and commuters are advised to remain careful while travelling during early mornings due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
