Three unidentified armed dacoits forcibly entered the residence of Balaram Sahu in Kalasapur village, Kendrapara, and looted gold ornaments and valuables worth approximately Rs 2 lakh, along with Rs 3,000 in cash. According to the victim, the intruders brandished firearms and held a knife to his neck while threatening him with dire consequences if he retaliated or reported the incident. The dacoits allegedly warned that they would blast the house and kill him if he disclosed the robbery. The Aul police have registered a case and begun an investigation, although no official statement has been released yet. The incident has heightened fear among villagers amid rising concerns over rural safety in the district.
