Heat conditions intensified across western Odisha on Sunday, with Titlagarh emerging as the hottest place in the state at 40.8°C.
Several districts recorded high temperatures, including Bhawanipatna at 39.8°C, Jharsuguda and Subarnapur at 39.4°C each. Bolangir reported 38.8°C, while Sambalpur and Talcher recorded 38.7°C and 38.6°C respectively. Rourkela also saw temperatures reaching 38.2°C.
Other regions were not spared either. Sundargarh recorded 37.6°C, while Angul touched 37.7°C. Coastal areas like Chandbali registered 36.7°C.
In central and coastal Odisha, Cuttack recorded 35.6°C, while the state capital Bhubaneswar reported 35.9°C.
The data reflects a consistent upward trend in temperatures, especially in western Odisha, where the mercury has already crossed the 40°C mark. The prevailing conditions indicate that the heat is likely to intensify further in the coming days.
