IndiGo Airlines has informed the DGCA that it has sufficient pilots across key categories to meet operational requirements and assured that flight cancellations will cease after February 10, 2026. The airline reported 2,400 Airbus pilots-in-command against a requirement of 2,280, and 2,240 first officers against a need of 2,050, ensuring adequate crew strength for its approved network.
The assurance follows widespread delays and cancellations in December 2025 due to crew shortages, over-optimised operations, and system challenges. In response, the DGCA and Ministry of Civil Aviation implemented enhanced oversight, including on-site inspectors, daily reporting, and monitoring of roster and duty time compliance. IndiGo’s corrective measures, combined with regulatory supervision, have stabilised operations and improved service reliability, with continued oversight to maintain safety and efficiency.
