Deepinder Goyal Calls Former Zomato Employees Back, Says ‘If You Have Unfinished Business, Come Home’

Deepinder Goyal, founder and vice chairman of Eternal (formerly Zomato), has made an emotional appeal to former employees, inviting them to rejoin the company. In a heartfelt post on X, Goyal said Eternal has matured, learned from its past and is ready to welcome back talent for its next phase of growth across businesses like Zomato, Blinkit and Hyperpure.

Deepinder Goyal, founder and vice chairman of Eternal, has publicly invited former Zomato employees to return, saying the company has evolved into a more mature and organised organisation. In a candid post on X, Goyal acknowledged that Zomato may not have been the right environment for everyone in the past but stressed that both the company and its leadership have grown since then.

Addressing those who left voluntarily or were asked to move on, Goyal highlighted the emotional connection many employees shared with the company. He suggested that leaving Zomato did not erase the shared history or the sense of belonging many once felt.

Goyal said Eternal — the parent group that includes Zomato, Blinkit, Hyperpure, District, Nugget, Feeding India and Blinkit Ambulances — is now a family of businesses working on interconnected problems. He noted that more than 400 employees are currently on their second or third stint with the group and are delivering some of the best work of their careers.

Acknowledging the company’s earlier chaos, Goyal said Eternal is now more structured and stable. He also downplayed the importance of titles, addressing concerns around leadership changes and his transition away from the CEO role at Zomato. According to him, influence and decision-making at Eternal have always gone beyond formal designations.

Ending his message with a direct invitation, Goyal encouraged former employees who feel they have unfinished business to reach out directly for conversations around suitable roles. His note reinforced Eternal’s culture of ownership, growth and second chances as the company prepares for its next phase.
