A shocking incident has been reported from Sanjob village under Orient Police Station in Jharsuguda district, Odisha, where a woman was found dead in a decomposed condition inside her home. Her husband, who was discovered unconscious in the same house, later died while receiving treatment at a hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Govinda Bhoi and Rukmini Bhoi, who lived alone. Neighbours grew suspicious after the house remained locked from inside for several days. The woman’s sister later entered the house and discovered the body, prompting immediate police intervention.
Police recovered the body and rushed the husband to hospital, but he could not survive. Preliminary reports suggest the woman may have died around three days earlier, but the exact cause remains unknown.
Both bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and police have registered a case. Authorities are investigating all possible angles, including natural death, suicide, or foul play.
