CBSE Class 12 Physical Education Board Exam 2026: Balanced, Scoring and Student-Friendly

The CBSE Class 12 Physical Education 2026 paper was rated balanced, syllabus-based and moderately easy by teachers. While mostly direct and scoring, a few MCQs and case studies required analytical thinking and careful interpretation.

The CBSE Class 12 Physical Education Board Exam 2026, conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, was widely described as balanced, fair and student-friendly by educators across the country. The 3-hour theory paper carried 70 marks and included internal choices, offering flexibility to students.

Teachers agreed that the exam closely followed the prescribed syllabus and tested both conceptual clarity and application skills rather than rote memorisation.

Section-Wise Breakdown

According to feedback shared by teachers, the paper was divided into five sections:

  • Section A (18 marks) – Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

  • Section B (10 marks) – Short answer questions

  • Section C (15 marks) – Inference-based questions

  • Section D (12 marks) – Case studies

  • Section E (15 marks) – Long answer questions

Section A was largely direct and scoring, though 3–4 MCQs were considered slightly tricky and required higher-order thinking. Section B included straightforward textbook-based questions such as definitions and differences.

Section C tested deeper understanding of topics and subtopics, while Section D (case studies) required analytical thinking and careful reading of scenarios. Though drawn from familiar topics, these questions demanded practical application of concepts.

Section E consisted of long-answer questions that required structured responses, logical explanations and effective time management.

Focus on Application Over Rote Learning

Core topics such as sports nutrition, yoga, biomechanics, sports psychology and training methods were comprehensively covered. Teachers noted that no questions were out of syllabus, and the paper aligned closely with CBSE sample papers.

Several educators highlighted that some questions appeared simple at first glance but required students to connect concepts and apply them to real-life sports situations. This shift toward competency-based assessment reflects CBSE’s evolving examination pattern.

Easier Compared to Last Year

Many teachers observed that the 2026 paper was relatively easier than the previous year. The overall difficulty level ranged from low to moderate. Students who had prepared consistently and understood the concepts were able to complete the paper within time and are expected to score well.

Overall Verdict

The CBSE Class 12 Physical Education 2026 exam successfully balanced direct, scoring questions with analytical components. It rewarded conceptual clarity, structured writing and application-based understanding, making it fair and appropriate for Grade 12 students.
