The annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, concluded smoothly on March 2. The exams, which began on February 19, were held at 3,082 centres across the state without any major disruptions.
BSE President Srikanta Tarai stated that the examinations were completed as scheduled and no serious violations or malpractice cases were reported. He noted a minor incident in Berhampur where an invigilator mistakenly distributed the wrong answer paper set, but the issue was promptly corrected without further complications. CCTV surveillance at all examination centres played a key role in ensuring transparency and discipline.
The evaluation process has already begun, with objective OMR answer sheets currently being checked. The assessment of subjective OMR papers will commence from March 19. Around 15,000 teachers will participate in the evaluation process across 51 centres. If no weather-related disruptions occur, the results are expected to be announced by the first or second week of May.
Following the conclusion of the exams, students celebrated outside various centres. In Balasore, many students gathered to celebrate and play Holi, marking the end of the examination season.
